At Harmony of Hardcore, it’s all about going all out, unity, and the ultimate love for the music. But to make sure we can keep experiencing these legendary moments in the future, we also need to take care of our planet. Just like we look out for each other in the pit, we also share responsibility for the world around us and for future generations of hardcore heads.

That’s why, behind the scenes, we’re constantly working hard to make our festival greener, cleaner, and more sustainable every single year. Together, we protect our holy grounds.

OUR PILLARS FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

To achieve our goals, we focus on several key themes. Here’s how we’re reducing our impact:

Resources & Waste: From Trash to Treasure
A true hardcore party is a clean party. We’re working towards a circular economy where waste no longer exists, but becomes a valuable resource. With our circular cup system, plastic cups no longer endlessly end up on the ground, but are recycled at a high standard. Return your cup, keep the grounds clean, and help us crush the waste mountain.

Energy: Heavy Bass, Green Power
Our massive sound systems and gigantic mainstages consume huge amounts of energy. To drastically reduce CO2 emissions, we follow a “smart power plan.” Wherever possible, we switch to fixed power connections and use the most sustainable generators running on HVO diesel (sustainable biofuel). That way, the bass still hits deep, without hitting nature just as hard.

Mobility: Travel Together = Better
The journey to Erp is the start of your festival day. We encourage all visitors to leave the car at home whenever possible. Use organized bus transport, come by bike if you live nearby, or carpool with friends. By also planning supplier transport more efficiently, we significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Nature & Surroundings: Respect the Grounds
The beautiful outdoor area of Erp is our home. We do everything we can to protect the local ecology and nature. We achieve this by taking strict measures around the festival grounds, ensuring we do not disturb the natural habitat of plants and animals and leave the area clean and restored after the weekend.

Local & Social: Hardcore Is Family
We do this together. Harmony of Hardcore highly values the local region. Wherever possible, we work with local suppliers and partners. This not only supports the local economy, but also reduces unnecessary transport miles. On top of that, the safety, health, and wellbeing of our crew and visitors always come first.

Food & Drinks: Fuel for the Pit
Hakkûh takes energy, so you need good food. But did you know food also has a major environmental impact? That’s why we offer an increasingly diverse range of food and drinks, including more conscious (and vegetarian) options with a lower CO2 footprint. Tasty, nutritious, and better for the planet.

WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING FOR

We’re not there yet, but we have a clear mission. This is our ultimate sustainability bucket list:

• Fully CO2-neutral: A festival without a footprint.
• Recyclable stages: Decor and stages that can be fully reused for future editions after the festival.
• Waste-free: Zero waste, the ultimate goal.

We can’t change the world alone, we need you! Sustainability is teamwork. Throw your waste in the correct bins, don’t leave your empty cups on the ground, and think about how you travel to the festival.
